Section I: Overview Questions

1. Does your current system prepare and print invoices automatically and efficiently?
2. Does your current system closely track receivables?
3. Does your current system automate communications with customers to collect late payments?
4. Are there any functions for receivables you'd like to see your current system handle better?
5. Does your current system allow you to manage cash flow and payables efficiently?
6. Is printing checks currently automated?
7. Are there any functions for payables you'd like to see your current system handle better?
8. If you maintain inventory, does your current system allow you to manage costs effectively?
9. Have you considered cutting costs by administering payroll in-house?
10. Would a company wide automated Purchase Order System enhance your current P.O. process?
11. Are job estimates and project costs managed through your current system?
12. Do you currently have a system to enter and process customer orders?
13. Is General Ledger work effectively handled either outside, or in an automated fashion internally?
14. Are you spending a significant amount of time training employees to operate your current system?
15. Is your current system linking all aspects of your business to one central point allowing your employees to access information from any location?
Section II: System Issues
1. Would it be valuable for you to be able to structure account numbers in your chart of accounts differently than your current system allows?
2. Does your current system allow you to easily modify screens to fit your company's needs?
3. Does your current system allow you to easily develop customized reports for your corporate executives?
4. If applicable, does your current system allow you to quickly access information on-line, such as tracking a transaction back to the original source?
5. Would sharing financial information across the network regardless of operating system be a substantial time saver in your business.
6. Is financial information available directly to other departments via computer network?
Section III: Reporting Issues
1. How long after the close of a period does it currently take for you to complete necessary reports?
2. Would it benefit you to enter financial data for a new month without being forced to close the previous month?
3. Are you in need of a system that allows you to re-enter a closed period, make adjustments, then re-close the period?
4. Are there any reports that could help you manage your business better than what your current system provides?
5. Could other departmental managers be receiving reports other than those they currently receive to help them run their departments better?
6. If it were possible to create these reports easily without keying new information into the system, how valuable of a tool would that be to your company? (referring to previous question)
7. Do current reports communicate information clearly?
8. Does your staff spend a great deal of time working around the limitations of your current software package to produce reports?
9. Can tax reporting information be called up online?
